Uber in Greensboro and Winston Salem: $30 + 5 Rides FREE

uber in greensboro

As of November 23, 2014, the $30 Uber Sign Up Bonus has been lowered to $20.  The $30 bonus was a fantastic offer while it lasted, but $20 in free credit towards your first ride is still a great deal.  The steps below are still correct, except that you will earn $20 towards your first ride instead of $30.

I know I just posted about Uber on Monday with details about their limited time best-ever sign up bonus of $30 (note that this sign up bonus is valid for new members anywhere, not just in North Carolina).  As of today, you can now use Uber in Greensboro and several other cities around NC.  They’ve offered service for a while now in Charlotte and Raleigh, but starting today, “Everyone’s Private Driver” is now available in:

  • Winston Salem
  • Greensboro
  • Durham
  • Chapel Hill
  • Fayetteville
  • Wilmington

I know there are a lot of Guru readers around the Triad, so I wanted to make sure everyone heard about this exciting news.

$30 in Free Credit!

As I mentioned the other day, Uber normally has a referral program with a $10 sign-up bonus, both for you as a new user and for the user who referred you.  For a limited time, however, they’ve tripled that bonus to $30 towards your first ride (and this is valid for new members anywhere, not just in North Carolina!)  If you haven’t signed up for Uber yet, this is the time to do it…this is the best Uber promo code that’s ever been offered.  I’d of course appreciate the support if you use my referral link, which you can access here.  Once you’ve signed up (or if you already have an Uber account), you’ll get your own referral code, and you’re welcome to post a reply with that link as a comment on this post for other users to use.

When signing up, make sure you see this message at the top (either with my referral code as pictured, or the code of someone else who refers you):

Uber Triad 2

It Gets Better in the Triad

UPDATE: The 5 free ride promotion was valid until July 10, 2014 so this offer is now expired.  But the free credit towards your first free ride (as outlined above) is still active!

In addition to the sign up bonus, your first 5 rides around the Triad (up to $25 before July 10) are completely free!  So you’ll have $30 in your account, but you won’t even have to use that for your first five trips between now and July 10, as long as they’re under $25.  To give you an idea of Uber pricing, here are some fare estimates:

  • Wake Forest University Campus to 6th & Vine: $12-$15
  • Guilford College Campus to Natty Greene’s: $16-$21

I really am excited to be able to use Uber in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and surrounding areas!  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.  I’ve used Uber in many cities around the US and have had overall very positive experiences with the service.
