How to get $35 in free credit for Private Car Service

If you live in a big city, you’ve probably heard of Uber – a relatively new service that offers on-demand private luxury cars (Lincoln Town Cars or Cadillac Escalades) at rates that are often not much more than regular taxis.

Normally, when signing up for Uber, if you’re referred by an existing member you can get $10 in credit (and it’s completely free to sign up). Right now, there is an additional promotion where you can get an additional $25 voucher absolutely free, giving you a total of $35 in free credit to be used towards a future ride. Here are the steps:

1) Go to http://www.giltcity.com/chicago/ubermay where you can order a complimentary $25 voucher to Uber. At that link, simply click the green “Buy” button. Register for a free account with Gilt City (you can use a “junk” email address if you want, but make sure you use a real address you can check, because that’s where your voucher code will be emailed to). I’ve signed up and I can attest to it being a legitimate service, with no spam.
2) Once you’ve ordered your complimentary voucher, go to this link which is my link to refer you, so we both get a bonus when you sign up.
3) Complete the sign up process with Uber (they do ask for a credit card, but again, I can attest to the service and they will not charge you anything up front).
4) When signing up for Uber, you should see your $10 promotional credit immediately, which is your bonus for being referred.
5) Within an hour or so, you should get an email from Gilt City with a Voucher Code for your $25 bonus credit. When you receive that email, go to your Uber account, click the “Promotions” link at the top, and enter your voucher code from Gilt City.

That’s it! You now have $35 in credit to use towards private car service in any city where Uber provides service. The free $25 Gilt deal ends at noon tomorrow (May 29), so make sure you at least complete step 1 before then.

Once you’ve signed up, you’ll have your own referral link that you can send to friends.

Let me know if you have any questions!
