This fare tends to pop up from time to time, but hasn’t been around for a while. It usually only lasts for a day or two, so you’ll want to act fast. Delta has dropped the price of roundtrip flights to Seattle from Charlotte (or vice versa) to $232! It’s pretty rare these days to find cross-country flights for under $250, so don’t count on this dropping any lower.
The fares are available on a pretty widespread set of dates, from now through July, 2015. The downside to this fare is that it’s only being offered on the least-desirable days of the week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Flights will route through Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, or Salt Lake CIty (Delta’s hubs)
Sample Itinerary:
Normally, I recommend performing flexible date searches on ITA Matrix, but for some reason, ITA isn’t showing these lowest fares accurately (the lowest fare it will show me is $336). So your best bet is to search on a site like Kayak, or directly with Delta.
Booking the Deal
I would recommend booking directly on Delta’s website to eliminate any extra confusion with a third party. As a constant reminder, when you book directly with the airline, you have up to 24 hours to cancel for a full refund, so when it comes to deals like this, if you even think you might want to take advantage of this sale, it’s in your best interest to go ahead and book now. Then, you can finalize you’re thinking and planning within 24 hours…you’ll lock in the price by booking now, but in 24 hours when you’re ready to book, the fare might be gone and then you’re out of luck!
