A fantastic deal is going on right now for flights from several US cities (mostly NYC and Los Angeles) for flights to Europe (mostly Milan, Prague, and Budapest).
It appears to be a mistake that the fare is pricing so low, so I don’t expect this to last more than a few hours. With this deal, you can get a one way flight from NYC to Milan for as low as $130. Although it seems completely unrelated, you’ll need to do a search for a multi-segment flight:
- NYC to Milan, Italy
- Prague, Czech Republic to Tokyo, Japan
By combining those 2 flights together, you’ll get this extremely low price. Some people have been using this to set themselves up for a Round-The-World flight, so if you have the time to take that kind of trip, then go for it! But you can also simply use the first segment as a one way flight to Europe, and forget about the second half to Japan.
The best place to find these flights is on Priceline.
The deal appears to be in October and November, but I’ve seen some reports of bookings in spring 2015. Here’s a sample that I found just a few minutes ago from November 4-11:
It’s also available from NYC to Budapest for about $272:
And also from the West Coast to Budapest, for only $280:
Like I said, there’s a good chance that this may not even last through the morning. Your best bet is probably to use this one way flight to get to Italy, and then use frequent flyer miles for the return trip. American Airlines has Off-Peak awards to/from Europe that are only 20,000 miles each way between October 15-May 15, so with this deal, you could score a trip to Italy for $130 + 20,000 miles!
